Safety

Camper safety is our highest priority. From trained staff and secure facilities to 24/7 medical support, every detail is designed to create a safe, caring environment where campers can fully enjoy their week and parents can rest easy.

On Site Medical Care

We’re committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for every camper. Each week of camp is supported by a licensed medical professional available around the clock. All medications are securely managed and administered by qualified medical staff. Our camp is located within 20 minutes of a hospital.

While registering, you’ll be able to complete your camper’s medication needs. Please take time to fill these out thoroughly so our team can best care for your child during their week at camp. All Counselors are CPR and First Aid Certified.

The registered medical professional will be responsible for distributing medication throughout the week. You will receive an email prior to camp with a reminder of camper’s medication list. If any changes, please provide those at least 7 days prior to camp.

We also ask that parents monitor their child’s health before arrival and keep them home if they are showing signs of illness such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or a contagious rash.

Safety First

We are committed to maintaining a safe environment for every camper, with a strict zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse. Abuse prevention is intentionally woven into every aspect of camp through staff training, active supervision, and ongoing accountability systems.

All staff members complete thorough training on our policies and procedures and are required to demonstrate understanding before serving at camp. These measures are in place to ensure every camper is protected, valued, and cared for throughout their time at MVCC.

All counselors complete abuse prevention training through MinistrySafe. This training equips our team to helps ensure a safe, well-supervised environment for every camper.

Weather Safety

We keep a close eye on weather conditions at all times and take a proactive approach to safety. MVCC utilizes AlertSense to monitor real-time alerts from the National Weather Service, including severe storms, lightning, high winds, and other potential hazards.

This system allows our team to receive early warnings and respond quickly when needed. Our staff remains in constant communication through phones and radios, ensuring we can act promptly to keep campers safe.

If you would like to keep up with weather alerts, you may register for AlertSense here.

As a former camper, I can attest to the incredible impact this camp has on young people. The friendships I made and the values I learned continue to shape who I am today. MountainView Christian Camp will always hold a special place in my heart.

Each day is filled with opportunities to grow in faith through Bible classes, devotionals, chapel, worship, and small groups. Campers who want to go deeper can also participate in personal Bible studies.
